Sculptures, Willy Ørskov
Exhibitions
Year: 1968
Venue: Maison du Danemark, Paris, France
The exhibition at Maison du Danemark on Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris was the first time Ørskov showed his pneumatic sculptures abroad.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue with a text from 1961 by Vagn Sten and a text by Grethe Grathwol.
For the catalogue Ørskov had the pneumatic sculptures photographed by commercial photographer Mogens Lundgaard Andersen, as he wanted to have them documented as objects rather than romantic art works.
The exhibition in Paris brought Ørskov in contact with Geert van Beijeren and Adriaan van Ravesteijn who had just opened their gallery Art & Project outside of Amsterdam. Ørskov exhibited with them in 1969 and again in 1971.
The exhibition also included the sculpture Summer Sculpture, the first work by Ørskov to contain a pneumatic element.
